Suggestions please!

We're going away!!!
A. and I are spending Christmas and the lead up time in Prague, Strasbourg and Paris! SO, I thought I'd ask for some suggestions of THE places to visit - including, of course, the not-to-be-missed eating places and markets. Please drop me your suggestion - I would love to hear from you.

  • Don't miss the X-mas market in Strasbourg: it's meant to be one of the most beautiful around. In Strasbourg as well:
    - taste the Choucroute (a specialty of Alsace), enjoy a glass of Riesling Sylvaner (one of the most classical wine of the surroundings)
    - taste the Flammkueche (Tarte flambée) for the apéro (with the glass of Riesling)
There are lots of beautiful (and touristy) places to visit in Alsace (sure that your guide book is fine for this).
Also, winetasting and "cellarvisiting" is a classic in Alsace...

... but, well, what about a side trip further south ?

  • Sounds like an amazing trip ahead. Just got back recently from Paris and we discovered some amazing restaurants - Bofinger is a must! (I wrote about it on my 'Restaurants' page). Very, very Parisian and French.
I fully agree with the Christmas market and the choucroute in Strasbourg.
Unfortunately have no ideas on Prague, except that they are known for their beer.

  • You'd think living in France would give me lots of insight into these things, but I have never ventured up to Strasbourg and rarely go to Paris. I could ask around, though. A couple family members did their studies in Strasbourg, and my husband knows Paris pretty well.

I came over for another reason, though. I wanted to thank you for the wonderful BBM3 package. It was hard for the kids not to devour all of the candies in one sitting. I had to put them way out of their reach and dole them out little by little to make the fun last. We enjoyed ever last bite!
